Miami’s Big Three Teaches Merits Of #GuyCode

Big Three

As we wrap up the fourth (and potentially last) year of the Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh supergroup that’s yielded three Finals, two titles with maybe another on the way, let’s look back on this great experiment in dude-love and see what we, mere mortal guys, can learn.

Everything’s Better With A Crew

Before joining forces Lebron James was on the verge of being the most talented disappointment in the history of basketball, Chris Bosh was the guy that made those goofy YouTube videos and Dwyane Wade was an aging star with a ring but a team that was irrelevant since 2006. Now they all have more rings than a mafia boss and get to spend every day hanging out in the beach. It’s always better to do things as a team than be a lone wolf. Just ask Patrick Ewing.

Know Your Role In The Group

The Big Three’s first year would’ve been a success to every other team in sports history but they lost in the Finals and people thought they were failures. Why? Because they didn’t know their roles. Who was the leader? Who got the last shot? While these questions don’t directly pertain to you every group of friends has a leader, a wing man and the guy who’s job it is to get super drunk and take his shirt off in public. Understanding which one of those you are is vital to nailing your hang dynamic. Know your role, stay in your lane and dominate.

Pick Your Spots

Dwyane Wade played in only 51 games this season and because of that he’s ready to show up when it matters most. Sometimes in life you have to learn which battles are worth fighting and which battles are worth sitting down on the sidelines and observing in suits that cost more than your car. By picking your battles you’ll not only conserve energy for when you need to act, you’ll cut down your “fighting with your girlfriend in a froyo store” by like 55%.

Respect The Goofball

As we mentioned before Chris Bosh was initially looked at as nothing more than a kind of odd looking big man with a goofy sense of humor and expendable skills. Now he’s draining threes like Steve Kerr, dominating down low and doing all the little things needed to keep the Heat on top. Never underestimate the goofus in the group, if nothing else because they can turn from the goofball to the crazy man REAL FAST!

Nobody Likes Arrogance

When Lebron first came to Miami, he had his own hour-long special celebrating how much he didn’t want to stay in Cleveland. When they got to the Finals, James and Wade mocked Dirk Nowitzki’s cold behind the scenes and to the press. Then they lost. And everybody loved it. Now, the Big Three play hard, respect their opponents and we (most of us) love watching them. Even if it would be fun to see somebody else win for once. As long as it isn’t the Spurs.
